About the Role:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Finance Assistant Manager to manage the financial operations of Champak Magazine at Delhi Press. The ideal candidate will have 4-5 years of experience in financial planning, budgeting, accounting, and reporting, preferably in the media, publishing, or related industries. This role is crucial for ensuring financial accuracy, growth, cost control, and strategic financial planning for the magazine.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning, Growth & Budgeting:
– Prepare and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts for Champak Magazine.
– Track expenses, revenues, and financial performance against the budget.
– Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize financial resources.
- Revenue & Subscription Management:
– Track and manage subscription revenue, advertisement revenue, and other financial inflows.
– Reconcile subscription payments and coordinate with the circulation department for accurate financial reporting.
– Analyze trends in subscriptions and ad sales revenue to provide financial insights.
- Financial Reporting & MIS:
– Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
– Provide insights and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
– Ensure financial reports comply with company policies and industry standards.
- Accounting & Compliance:
– Coordinate with the Delhi accounts team for records, invoices, and payment transactions.
– Ensure timely accounts payable and receivable management for Champak.
– Handle legal contracts and statutory compliances related to financial operations.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of finance, budgeting, growth and cost control.
- Work with Publisher to ensure profitability, growth and cost control through close interactions with various departments by taking reports and tracking their performance financially.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software (Tally, SAP, or similar).
- Proficiency in MS Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Ability to analyze financial data and provide strategic recommendations.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of tax laws, compliance regulations, and auditing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- 4-5 years of experience in finance and accounts, preferably in media, publishing, or a similar industry.
- Experience handling subscription revenue, ad sales finance, and budgeting is a plus.
