On 7th February 2026, the campus of HXLS, Sector 64, Gurugram transformed into more than a celebration space—it became a living tapestry of memory, meaning and mindful inheritance. Dharohar 2026 was not merely an event; it was a communion of generations, a pause in time where stories were not told, but experienced.
In collaboration with Champak Magazine as the Media Partner, the day unfolded as a tribute to the legacies we inherit and the ones we consciously craft with our Children. At Heritage Xperiential Learning School, it is believed that stories are not extracurricular- they are foundational. They shape identity, empathy and imagination. Dharohar held up this belief in its most vibrant form.
A Campus Alive with Story
From evocative theatre performances by Students of Grades III–VI to a spirited Cultural Fair that brought together music, craft, cuisine and conversation, the school grounds pulsed with shared belonging. Children stepped into characters, explored complex perspectives and voiced ideas with confidence and compassion — reminding us that storytelling is how young minds rehearse the future.Families moved through artisan showcases, play zones, train rides and craft corners, while soulful performances by Bobby Cash and Lorraine Music Academy lent rhythm and warmth to the celebration. There were spontaneous bursts of song, reflective dialogues between generations, and the unmistakable joy of community gathered with purpose.
Champak: A Timeless Companion in Childhood
The presence of Champak Magazine added a deeply nostalgic and meaningful dimension to Dharohar. Their vibrant stall, showcasing an expansive range of magazines across languages- including beloved titles such as Champak, Highlight Champs and Highlight Genies- along with storybooks and activity books, became a natural gathering point for children and adults alike.
For many parents and grandparents, the sight of Champak was a bridge to their own childhoods. Stories they once waited for eagerly each month now found their way into the hands of the next generation. Grandparents smiled knowingly. Parents reminisced. Children listened, curious and wide-eyed. In that moment, reading was no longer a habit to be cultivated- it was a heritage being passed on.
Interactive reading sessions further deepened this engagement. Selected students immersed themselves in storytelling circles, discovering once again that imagination requires no screen — only attention and wonder. The joy was palpable when children received Champak activity books, carrying home not just a gift, but an invitation to keep reading.
Beyond a Single Day
At HXLS, stories are seen as living experiences that shape who our Children are becoming. Dharohar was a reminder that legacy is not abstract — it is built in shared laughter, in theatre rehearsals, in pages turned together, in music that lingers after the last note fades.
With Champak as a thoughtful co-partner, Dharohar 2026 became a celebration of intergenerational connection and conscious culture-building. It reinforced our shared commitment to nurturing readers, thinkers and empathetic citizens — Children who understand where they come from and feel empowered to shape where they are going.
What a day it was.
And what a legacy we continue to co-create- together..
