Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Manager to oversee the sales of books and magazines to schools in various regions of India to promote and sell Champak magazine subscriptions and Champak books to schools, including government, aided, and non-aided institutions. The ideal candidate should have at least 10 years of experience in the academic/school book division and a proven track record of achieving sales targets.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sales strategies to increase Champak magazine subscriptions and book sales in schools.
- Identify potential schools and institutions in the assigned regions and establish relationships to drive sales.
- Conduct presentations and product demonstrations to showcase the benefits and value of Champak magazines and books.
- Customize sales pitches and proposals to meet the specific requirements of schools and institutions.
- Negotiate pricing and terms to secure orders and contracts.
- Provide excellent customer service to maintain strong relationships with schools and institutions.
- Achieve the sales target of 50 lakh to 1 crore per year for Champak magazine subscriptions and Champak books.
- Stay updated on the latest educational trends and incorporates them into sales strategies.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns.
- Identify CSR companies and approach them for funding support to distribute Champak magazines and books to schools.
- Prepare funding proposals and actively engage with CSR companies to secure financial support.
- Maintain accurate records of sales, customer interactions, and funding activities.
- Keep track of competitor activities and market trends to identify new sales and funding opportunities.
Requirements
- Proven experience in sales, preferably in the education sector, with a focus on magazine subscriptions and book sales.
- Familiarity with Champak magazine and its target audience (children aged 6-14).
- Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively convey the value of Champak magazines and books.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with schools, institutions, and CSR companies.
- Demonstrated negotiation and persuasion skills to close deals and secure funding.
- Knowledge of the CSR landscape and experience in soliciting funds from CSR companies.
- Self-motivated and target-driven individual with a passion for promoting children’s literature.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Willingness to travel within the assigned regions as necessary.
