About the Role

Champak, one of India's most loved children's magazines published by Delhi Press, has inspired generations of young readers through engaging stories, puzzles, activities, and educational content. We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Assistant Editor to join our editorial team and help shape high-quality content for young audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, curating, and editing stories, articles, activities, and puzzles for the magazine.
  • Review, edit, proofread, and fact-check content to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Coordinate with writers, illustrators, translators, and designers to meet editorial deadlines.
  • Brainstorm new themes, story ideas, and recurring features.
  • Support page planning and work closely with the design team during production.
  • Ensure content is engaging, age-appropriate, and aligned with Champak's editorial standards.
  • Monitor production schedules and ensure timely delivery of editorial content.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in English Literature, Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in editorial, publishing, print media, or content editing.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English; knowledge of Hindi is an added advantage.
  • Strong editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with Adobe InDesign, MS Office, and Google Workspace is preferred.
  • Passion for children's literature and educational publishing
